Google Doodle Guitar Demo and Source Code

To celebrate Lester William Polsfuss (June 9, 1915 – August 12, 2009) – known as Les Paul who was a legendary jazz guitarist has been his 96th birthday, Google has created a musical doodle which reflects his guitar legacy.

Via this doodle, a guitar like Google logo, you can play and listen, you can also bang out chords and tunes by clicking on the “keyboard” icon.
As the doodle is so awesome, I decided to get the source and keep it forever.

Here comes the online demo and source code of Google doodle guitar for researching and collection, Google owns all rights.

Just use a iframe tag to include the google-guitar.htm or recordable-guitar.htm, you can has the effect in your own site.

My Google Doodle Guitar Has No Sound, Why?

Maybe you will not listen any music when you play this doodle in your local computer for the security reason of flash, after upload these codes to the server, it works OK, and was tested on IE/FF/Chrome .
If you want to play it in local, you can change the flash security settings at http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html
Just add the path of guitar11.swf to the Security panel.

        Oh, I was not precise. I can replay them clicking the play button just after recording them but I can’t save the link and play them later, can I?

          After recording them, wait some seconds you will get a link like this “http://www.google.com/webhp?tune=YABCJAgBGNMcMxkBhigCAA**”
          Because google have removed the doodle, you need change the link to “http://www.peptop.com/wp-content/uploads/guitar/recordable-guitar.htm?tune=YABCJAgBGNMcMxkBhigCAA**”, then you can reply your tune by links.

      You’d better use a iframe to add this code, but it seems blogspot doesn’t support this tag.
      As I know, there is not any complete and depend code for this guitar doodle now.

          iframe is a html tag, many BSP doesn’t support it, so I am afraid you can’t add this in Blogger.

      Hi, 30s is set by the source code of Google, so we can’t record longer than 30s unless we modify the code.

        Hi,
        How can I make it work? I changed URL above by “sitename.com” but then it create a new array:

        sitename.com/tune=jAARAhRMEAARMhRGjFEWnBGwAA**

        and when I open in new tab, it didn’t replay. Just open the guitar

    Great work! I’m having problems uploading the files to my FTP, so I have temporarily linked to your blog. I hope you don’t mind, I made sure I gave proper credit. Even after I put my own SWF file, I will leave the credit to this blog, because I got the info from here!

      Add some codes like this:
      <iframe src="/uploads/guitar/google-guitar.htm" height="340px" width="660px" style="overflow:hidden" frameborder="0" ></iframe>
      But most blog service providers will filter html tags, so it maybe not works on your blogspot blog.

      The .js file was shuffled and compressed by Google. People always use this way to protect their codes. I’m sorry I don’t know how to make it readable. :sad:

      hi, it seems the doodle can’t record the created tune.
      But after some searching, I found something useful, maybe, “Click the compose button at the base of the second “g” and begin recording your own 30 second tribute to one of music’s most innovative pioneers using your keyboard to play specific notes or mouse for virtual strumming. Unfortunately, the recording and sharing aspect appears limited to US Googlers. “
